Lea Epstein, Dr., PsyD
I work with young adults who are thoughtful, capable, and curious, but often hard on themselves. Many come to therapy during periods of change: starting or ending relationships, navigating career decisions, or realizing that the way they’ve been pushing through life isn’t working as well as it used to. My approach is collaborative and reflective. I’m particularly interested in how people come to understand themselves, especially through the choices they make and the patterns that show up in their relationships. Therapy is a space to slow down, think more clearly about what’s happening, and make intentional shifts over time.
I’m originally from Canada, so you can expect warmth and steadiness... and a sincere internal battle against saying “sorry” far too often. I’m also NYC battle-tested: thoughtful, direct, and focused on engaging honestly with the parts of life that feel complicated or stuck.
Change can be uncomfortable, and it doesn’t always need to be taken so seriously. Perspective (and occasionally a sense of humor) can be surprisingly useful. I aim to offer support as we work through things thoughtfully and collaboratively.
